Control the price of velvet at Jelkala and your will is what will propagate out. These wide swings at Jelkala creates an opportunity for the player to buy low and sell high. Prices everywhere will rise while Jelkala's will quickly drop again. If you buy velvet in Jelkala so it is more expensive there than in other towns then caravans will stop carrying out into the rest of Calradia. The price of velvet slowly propagates out from Jelkala as caravans trade. It is this lack of supply that makes dyeworks consistently good in so many towns and so many games. The hidden reason dyeworks is so profitable for players is that Jelkala is the only source for velvet in the game (other than the player). Preventing caravans leaving Jelkala from arriving at their destinations.
